Business Development Manager / Director (part-time)
You will lead the growth efforts for our agency. You will lead the efforts to acquire new clients and grow revenue which includes identifying growth opportunities, building and maintaining relationships with potential clients, and pitching our services.
The right candidate will lead this process with credibility & confidence, build strong relationships both internally and externally, expand the agency’s network of potential clients, and employ a strategic, targeted approach to growth.
What you’ll do:
Agency Growth & Prospecting
Sell Invisible Hand’s offerings and services to brands, nonprofits, advocacy organizations.
Cultivate relationships with new-to-agency industries and markets.
Build and maintain target lists for prospective clients taking into account agency’s genius zones and existing clients / network.
Develop strong, growth-oriented relationships with key internal and partner stakeholders at target companies and institutions
Project Leadership
Deliver first-rate materials that target an audience of industry leaders and C-Suite executives.
Help draft memos, proposals, pitch decks, and related collateral in collaboration with internal teams, ensuring the products answer the client’s needs.
Maintain an accurate database of leads and prospects for relationship management, including gifting, newsletter audience, Agency and Founder social media following, etc.
Own the full cycle sales process, creating timelines and task lists for pitches, memos, introduction materials, meeting cadences, leading scheduling with prospective clients, etc.
Strategic Reputation Building
Landscape industry events, speaking opportunities, networking, etc. for agency participation.
Proactively recommend reputation building tactics for the agency based on targeted list of prospects and earned media potential (i.e. awards, top agency lists, etc.).
Here's what we're looking for:
You have at least five years’ relevant experience.
You must have experience in leading business development for the services category (i.e. agencies)
Demonstrated network in one or more of the following areas: corporate clients, philanthropy, family offices
You are a strategic thinker and leader who can act as a trusted partner and advisor to clients across a broad range of outputs
You exhibit professionalism and integrity, leading by example, treating people with respect, and seeking and giving constructive feedback.
You have excellent written and oral communication skills. You are a great listener; communicate concisely and evocatively in written text; and can present to a boardroom, a small NGO, and anyone else we aim to serve.
You are able to manage competing demands and the moving pieces of multiple complex projects, yet remain unflappable under deadline pressure.
