Invisible Hand is looking for a Comms Director to join our rapidly growing agency. Our team’s mission is to use culture, the network effect, and live experiences to meet our client’s goals. Our client roster includes Spotify, PBS, Emerson Collective, Omidyar Network, Equality Federation, and many more.
You are a self-starter, motivated by learning, able to work quickly, and a creative problem solver with incredibly strong communication skills and a “passion for polish.” Candidates should be comfortable working in a startup environment.
Here’s a sampling of what you’ll do:
Own external comms and press outreach for a marquee live event in Los Angeles
Pitch and secure both trade and mass media outlets
Develop comms strategy, including ideas for engagement, cross posting, etc.
Develop social media strategy, including engagement with talent and key stakeholders
Oversee creative development and create briefs for creative team
Keep a close eye on trends and news to be able to convert into actionable ideas
Here's what we're looking for:
You have at least five years’ experience working in PR and/or publicity
Proven relationships with press outlets
Experience pitching live events is mandatory
Proven knowledge of social media, and an ability to extract insights and learnings from what you see
You are a strong writer with significant experience crafting communications for highly ranking organization principals.
You exhibit professionalism and integrity, leading by example, treating people with respect, and seeking and giving constructive feedback.
You are able to manage competing demands and the moving pieces of multiple creative projects, yet remain unflappable under deadline pressure.
